Sandy'S Homemade Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. warm water
1 Tbsp. salt
3 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 c. Crisco
1 pkg. yeast
5 to 6 c. flour
Preparation

Put salt, sugar, shortening and water in large mixing bowl. Add warm water and stir.
Sprinkle yeast over water and let set for 5 minutes.
Do not stir.
Add 2 cups of flour and beat thoroughly.
Add remaining flour, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
When unable to mix well with a spoon, mix with your hands.
Mix until dough begins to get stiff and hard to mix in flour.
Pour dough onto a well-floured surface; sprinkle with flour on top.
Let dough rest for 5 minutes while you wash your bowl.
Knead dough 5 to 10 minutes; sprinkle with flour as necessary until dough is smooth, elastic and no longer sticky.
