Quick Apple Cake - cooking recipe

1/2 c. margarine, at room temperature
1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. flour
1 large apple, pared, cored and cut into 1/4-inch thick wedges
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. chopped almonds
Preparation

Cream together margarine and the 1/2 cup sugar.
Add eggs and beat until fluffy.
Stir in vanilla and flour, mixing well. Spread evenly in buttered 9-inch round cake pan.
Place apple wedges into cake batter to form a circular pattern.
Mix together 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon.
Sprinkle over cake.
Sprinkle top with almonds.
