Old Fashioned Tea Cakes(100 Years Old) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. buttermilk with 1/2 tsp. soda
    1 egg
    pinch of salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    flour
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add rest of ingredients except flour.
    Work in as little flour as possible, approximately 3 1/2 cups.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 until light brown.
