Creamed Cabbage - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium head cabbage
2 or 3 carrots
1 onion
smoked sausage
milk
butter
salt and pepper
1 c. flour
Preparation

Slice cabbage, carrots and smoked sausage.
Chop onion.
Cook in small amount of water (2 cups).
When vegetables are done cooking (steaming) add enough milk to cover all, then add 1/2 stick butter.
Season with salt and pepper to desired taste.
Mix flour with water in bowl to make thick mixture.
When mixture comes to a boil, thicken with flour and water to desired thickness (allow to cook for short period after every addition of flour and water, so mixture does not become too thick).
We enjoy this over toast on a cold winter day!
