Bran Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. oil
    2 1/2 c. granulated sugar
    3 eggs
    3 c. buttermilk
    3 c. bran
    3 3/4 c. flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. boiling water
    2 c. raisins or chopped nuts
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients.
    Let stand in the refrigerator for 24 hours before using.
    Bake in 425\u00b0 oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Use as needed, as the batter keeps, refrigerated, for 1 month.
    Makes 5 dozen.
