Senator'S Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 ham hock (large)
    3 or 4 stalks celery with tops, chopped
    1 bunch green onions, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1/4 c. chopped parsley
    1/2 c. diced carrots
    1/2 c. instant potato flakes
    2 cans Great Northern beans
    pinch of black pepper
Preparation
    Cover
    ham hock with water and cook.
    Debone and cut up fine. Put
    aside
    and
    save
    broth.
    Combine celery and tops, green onions
    and tops, garlic and carrots.
    Cover with water and simmer
    until tender (not overdone).
    Combine ham, broth, vegetables,
    beans
    and
    potato
    flakes and heat until hot and blended.
