Chicken Chow Mein - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 c. cooking oil
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 c. sliced onion
1 (4 oz.) can water chestnuts, sliced
2 c. chicken stock
1/4 c. cold water
2 c. sliced cooked chicken, cut in thin slices
1 tsp. salt
3 c. sliced celery
1 (No. 303) can bean sprouts, drained
2 tsp. sugar
2 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 c. soy sauce
Preparation

Heat in deep skillet oil, salt and pepper.
Add celery, bean sprouts and sugar.
Stir in chicken stock and cook for about 10 minutes.
Blend cornstarch, cold water and soy sauce, add to vegetable mixture and stir until mixture thickens.
Add chicken. Heat through and serve over chow mein noodles.
