Paul'S Brunswick Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (6 lb.) chicken
    1 gal. water
    2 large onions, sliced
    2 c. okra
    4 c. tomatoes
    2 c. lima beans
    4 medium potatoes, diced
    4 c. corn
    2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Cut chicken in 8 pieces and simmer for 2 1/4 hours in water. Remove chicken.
    Add lima beans, tomatoes, onions, potatoes and okra to broth.
    Simmer until limas are tender, about an hour.
    Add hot water, if necessary and stir to prevent scorching.
    Add corn and chicken, boned and diced, and seasonings.
    Serves 8 to 10.
