Lentil Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. lentil beans
    3 onions
    2 carrots
    1 stalk celery
    1 bay leaf
    1 pinch thyme
    6 peppercorns
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 lb. fat salt pork
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1 small can tomatoes
Preparation
    Soak beans a few hours.
    Wash and place in deep pan with all but the tomatoes and salt pork.
    Cook about 1 hour, then add tomatoes and boil for 1/2 hour.
    Dice salt pork and fry to golden brown; add to soup.
    Before serving, add 3 frankfurters, sliced thin.
