Nine-Day Cole Slaw - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 head cabbage (about 3 lb.), thinly shredded
1 green pepper, chopped fine
2 onions, chopped fine
1 c. sugar
1 c. vinegar
1 Tbsp. salt
1 c. salad oil
1 Tbsp. celery seed
Preparation

Stir together cabbage, onion, green pepper and 1 cup sugar. Bring to a boil salad oil, vinegar, celery seed, salt and 2 more tablespoons sugar.
Pour hot mixture over cabbage; toss well and chill overnight before serving.
Recipe makes about 2 quarts.
