Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 oz. red food coloring
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/4 c. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Cream together the sugar and shortening.
Add eggs and blend well.
Add food coloring and cocoa and blend in buttermilk.
Add flour and salt, mixing well.
Gradually add vanilla and beat.
Mix vinegar and soda and stir in last.
Don't overbeat.
Pour mixture into 9-inch pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
