Ingredients

1/3 c. bacon grease
1/4 c. plain meal
2 c. buttermilk
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. water
Preparation

Melt grease in a skillet.
Add meal and brown.
Add salt and pepper; brown some more.
Add buttermilk and water; stir until thick.
