Buttercream Decorating Icing - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. solid vegetable shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
1 lb. 10x sugar (4 c.)
3 Tbsp. cream
Preparation

Cream butter and shortening together with an electric mixer. Add vanilla and salt.
Beat in sugar, one cup at a time, blending well after each addition.
Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often with a spatula.
Add milk and beat at high speed for 10 minutes. Keep icing covered with lid and store in refrigerator.
Chill before making roses.
To use as frosting, thin with milk.
Yields 3 cups.
It can also be frozen.
