Seafood Gumbogroves, Texas - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 lbs. shrimp, cleaned
1 pt. oysters, if desired
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 can of whole tomatoes, regular size
1 large onion, chopped
1 c. flour
1 c. cooking oil
2 qt. of water, or more if desired
1/2 c. green onion tops
1/4 c. parsley, chopped
3 stalks of celery, chopped
1 pod of garlic, chopped if desired
2 boxes of frozen okra (10 oz.)
1 pt. crab meat
Salt, pepper and Tabasco to taste
Preparation

Make roux in thick cast iron pot, by stirring flour and oil on very low heat until dark brown.
Transfer to big gumbo pot.
Add water, tomatoes, cook about 45 minutes and add celery, bell pepper, okra, onion and garlic.
Add shrimp, oysters and crab meat, season to taste with salt, pepper and tabasco.
Cook slowly for 1 hour. If too thick, add more water.
Serve in bowl over hot rice.
