Ingredients

1 c. unsalted butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Sift flour and salt together.
Add to butter mixture 1/2 cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
Spread dough into a 9-inch square pan.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for about 35 minutes or until top is golden brown.
Yield: 3 dozen cookies.
