Sweet And Sour Meatballs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. ground lean beef
    1/2 lb. bulk sausage
    1 egg
    1/2 c. oats, uncooked
    1/4 c. milk
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. each pepper and nutmeg
    1 large can pineapple chunks
    1/2 c. vinegar
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    2 Tbsp. juice from sweet pickles
    2 carrots, sliced and parboiled
    1 green pepper, cut in strips
    1 small onion, sliced
    2 or 3 stalks celery, parboiled, diagonally sliced
Preparation
    Combine meat with egg and oats, milk and seasonings.
    Mix well and shape into 18 small balls.
    Roll balls in 1/3 cup flour. Brown slowly in 2 tablespoons hot shortening, turning frequently. Remove with slotted spoon.
