Russian Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. sifted confectioners sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. finely chopped nuts
Preparation

Mix together thoroughly the butter, confectioners sugar and vanilla extract.
Sift together and stir in sifted flour and salt. Add finely chopped nuts to batter.
Chill dough.
Roll into 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased baking sheet (cookies do not spread). Bake until set, but not brown in moderately hot oven at 400\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes.
While still warm, roll in confectioners sugar. Cool.
Roll in sugar again.
Yields about 4 dozen 1 1/2-inch cookies.
