Soft Pretzels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cake yeast dissolved in 1 1/2 c. warm water
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    4 c. flour
Preparation
    Dissolve yeast in warm water.
    Add 1 teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon sugar; blend in flour.
    Knead dough until smooth.
    Cut into small pieces.
    Roll into ropes and twist into desired shape. Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Brush pretzel with beaten egg.
    Sprinkle with coarse salt.
    Bake immediately at 425\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    (For hard pretzels, use only 1 1/4 cup water and add 1/4 cup melted butter.
    Shape smaller and bake until brown.)
