Pao Doce(Portuguese Sweet Bread) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. flour
6 eggs
1/2 lb. butter
2 c. cane sugar
2 yeast cakes
2 c. milk (warm, fresh)
1 c. mashed potatoes, cooked
pinch of salt
Preparation

Dissolve yeast cakes in a small amount of warm milk.
Mix them with mashed potatoes.
Combine the potato mixture with the other ingredients. Cover the pan with a heavy cloth and set in a warm place to rise until doubled in bulk.
Pinch the dough off in sections, shape and put into either round or loaf pan.
Before baking, brush the loaves with egg whites or milk.
Bake at 375\u00b0 for 45 minutes or until done.
