Fudge Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. plain flour
    1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. shortening, softened
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    1/4 c. evaporated milk
    1/2 c. broken nuts, pecans or walnuts
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    In a small bowl, mix flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt.
    In a large bowl, cream shortening, sugar and egg until light and fluffy.
    Add milk.
    Gradually stir in flour mixture.
    Stir in nuts.
    Spread in greased 8-inch square baking pan.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched.
    Cut into squares while warm.
    Cool in pan. Makes 16 squares.
