Welsh Tea Cakes - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
pinch of salt
1/2 c. + 1 Tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. currants or raisins
1 egg
a little water or milk
Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg.
Cut in butter. Add sugar and currants.
Make a stiff dough with egg and a little water or milk.
Roll out 1/4-inch thick and cut into 2-inch circles.
Bake on griddle or in electric fry pan set at 340\u00b0, turning cakes once.
When cool, sprinkle with fine granulated sugar.
Serve warm or cold with marmalade.
