Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 2/3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 c. white vegetable shortening
1 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 c. molasses
whipped cream or topping
2 c. water
Preparation

Mix flour, leavenings, salt and spices in large bowl.
Cream shortening and sugar until light.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each.
Mix molasses and 2 cups water.
Add alternately with dry ingredients to the creamed mixture, beating until smooth. Pour into 2 greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pans.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven, about 35 minutes.
Serve hot with whipped cream.
Makes 24 servings.
