South Carolina Shrimp Gumbo - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. shrimp, cut into pieces
1 chopped onion
1/2 c. bell pepper, chopped
3 strips bacon, crumbled
1/4 c. rice
1 c. celery
1 can tomatoes
1 lb. frozen okra
1 bay leaf
Tabasco sauce
salt
Preparation
-
Saute bacon, onion, bell pepper and celery until tender.
Add tomatoes, tomato juice, okra, rice and bay leaf.
Cook for 45 minutes.
Add shrimp, Tabasco sauce and salt to taste.
Cook for an additional 20 minutes.
Serve over rice with cornbread.
Serves 4.
