Delmarva Crab And Corn Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 ears fresh corn or 1 1/2 c. frozen whole kernels
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 small onion, chopped
    3 c. water *
    1/4 tsp. salt
    8 oz. fresh crab meat
    1 red bell pepper, seeded
    1 (8 oz.) bottle clam juice *
    1/2 tsp. Old Bay seafood seasoning
    cayenne or black pepper
Preparation
    *Four cups defatted chicken broth may be used instead of clam juice and water.
