Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. milk, scalded
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    5 slices stale bread, crusts removed and buttered, then cubed
    nutmeg
Preparation
    Slightly beat eggs; add sugar, salt and vanilla.
    Slowly add scalded milk and pour on cubed bread in a casserole.
    Sprinkle with nutmeg.
    Put pudding in a pan of hot water and bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done (could take a little longer or a little less time).
