Devil'S Food Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 2/3 c. sifted cake flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 1/2 c. milk
    3 sq. Baker's unsweetened chocolate, melted
    2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    3 eggs
    1 1/2 tsp. red food coloring
Preparation
    Sift flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and soda.
    Stir shortening until soft.
    Add flour mixture and 1 cup milk.
    Mix to dampen flour.
    Beat 2 minutes at medium speed of mixer or 300 strokes by hand.
    Add remaining milk, eggs, chocolate and food coloring.
    Beat 1 minute longer.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 in 3 (8-inch) pans for 30 to 35 minutes.
