Silver Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sifted cake flour
    3 t. baking powder
    1/2 t. salt
    2/3 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    1 t. vanilla
    1 c. milk
    5 egg whites
Preparation
    Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Cream shortening with the sugar and vanilla until fluffy. Add the dry ingredients and milk alternately in small amounts, beating well after each addition. Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter. Pour into 3 greased 8-inch round pans and bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
