Sweet Potato Biscuits - cooking recipe

2 c. self-rising flour
1/4 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. shortening
2 Tbsp. butter, softened
1 c. cooked, mashed sweet potatoes
1/3 c. milk
Preparation

Combine flour and sugar in a medium bowl; cut in shortening and butter with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse meal.
Add sweet potatoes and milk, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead 4 or 5 times.
Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2-inch biscuit cutter.
Place on lightly greased baking sheets.
Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
