Chocolate Chip Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 c. hot water
    1 c. sugar
    1 stick oleo
    1 stick butter
    2 eggs
    1 3/4 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. soda
    6 oz. chocolate chips
    1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Pour hot water over dates and set aside to cool.
    Cream together sugar, oleo, butter and eggs.
    Sift together flour, cocoa, salt and soda.
    Add dry ingredients with date mixture to cream mixture.
    Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips and nuts over top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes.
