Sauerbraten - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    beef (cross rib top sirloin or bottom round)
    1 Tbsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. sugar
    12 cloves
    6 bay leaves
    2 medium onions, sliced
    6 peppercorns
    1/2 lemon, sliced
Preparation
    Place meat in crock, large enough to cover with liquid.
    Cover with the following mixture: 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water, then add all other ingredients.
    After 2 or 3 days, drain meat.
