Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. boiling water
    1 c. uncooked oatmeal
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 stick butter
    2 eggs
    1 3/4 c. unsifted flour
    1 c. white sugar
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
    3/4 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over oatmeal.
    Let stand for 10 minutes. Add brown and white sugar and butter.
    Stir until butter melts. Add eggs.
    Stir well.
    Sift together flour, soda, salt and cocoa. Add 1/2 package chocolate pieces.
    Pour batter into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Sprinkle walnuts and remaining chocolate pieces on top.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 40 minutes.
    Cake is so rich it requires no frosting.
