Dove Or Quail In Wine Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    15 doves or quail
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 c. flour
    1/2 c. oil
    2 large onions, finely chopped
    2 large ribs celery, chopped
    2 c. white wine
    2 c. water
    3 to 4 bay leaves
    4 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Salt and pepper birds.
    Dust with flour and brown in oil. Place onions and celery in bottom of large Dutch oven.
    Put bay leaves inside each bird and dot with butter.
    Pour wine and water over birds.
    Cover and bake at 375\u00b0 about 2 hours or until birds are fully cooked.
    Baste often.
    Serve with long grain or wild rice.
