Old-Fashioned Potato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 to 8 white potatoes, peeled and sliced
    3 medium size onions, sliced
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    6 c. milk, scalded
    2 Tbsp. chopped parsley
    black pepper
Preparation
    Put the potatoes and onions in a kettle with the salt and cover with cold water (4 cups).
    Bring to the boiling point. Cover and cook gently for 20 minutes.
    Transfer to a blender and puree the vegetables or simply mash them to a pulp in the water. Add the milk and season to taste with salt and plenty of pepper. Garnish liberally with chopped parsley.
