Old-Fashioned Sour Cream Drops - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. soft shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Beat in eggs.
Stir in sour cream and vanilla. Sift together and stir in flour, soda, baking powder and salt.
Chill dough at least 1 hour.
Drop rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart on lightly greased baking sheet and bake until delicately browned, just until, when touched with finger, almost no imprint remains.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes at 425\u00b0. Makes about 5 dozen 2 1/2-inch cookies.
