Green Tomato Catsup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 peck green tomatoes
    1 large head cabbage
    6 onions
    1/2 c. salt
    2 hot peppers (if desired)
    3 lb. sugar
    1 gal. vinegar
    1 pkg. mixed spices
    1 Tbsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Chop vegetables.
    Add salt and let set overnight.
    Add sugar, vinegar, spices and turmeric.
    Cook slowly for 1 hour and put in jars and seal.
    Makes about 15 pints.
