Spiced Fruit - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (1 lb. 14 oz.) can pear halves
    1 (1 lb. 14 oz.) can peach halves
    1/3 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. cider vinegar
    4 (2-inch) sticks cinnamon
    2 tsp. whole cloves
    1 tsp. whole allspice
Preparation
    Drain
    fruit
    syrup
    into
    saucepan
    and
    put the fruit itself into
    a
    bowl.
    Add sugar, vinegar and whole spices to the syrup and boil for 5 minutes.
    Pour syrup and spices over the
    fruit and
    cover\ttightly.
    Put
    in refrigerator and let stand at least 4 hours.
