Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. flour (plain)
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. coconut
    1 c. chopped nuts
    5 egg whites
Preparation
    Cream the margarine and shortening.
    Add sugar and mix well. Add egg yolks, one at a time, and beat until fluffy.
    Combine flour and soda and add to mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in vanilla, coconut and pecans.
    Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Pour into 3 floured and greased pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
    Cool and frost with cream cheese frosting.
