Hot German Potato Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped onion
    3/4 c. diced celery
    1/3 c. bacon drippings
    2 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. sugar
    black pepper to taste
    2/3 c. water
    1/2 c. cider vinegar
    6 c. sliced boiled potatoes
    3 Tbsp. mayo
    3 boiled eggs
    8 slices crisp bacon, crumbled
    sliced green olives
Preparation
    Saute onion and celery in bacon drippings until onion are limp. Add next five ingredients.
    Cook 2 minutes.
    Add potatoes, mayonnaise, eggs and bacon.
    Toss lightly.
    Serve hot and garnish with olives.
