Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 large, finely chopped onion
    1 (10 oz.) can whole baby clams in liquid
    4 medium, diced potatoes
    salt and pepper to taste
    2 c. milk
    1 c. light cream
Preparation
    Melt the margarine in a deep saucepan.
    Add onion; cook slowly until golden brown.
    Add clams in liquid.
    Skim if necessary.
    Add potatoes, salt and black pepper to taste.
    Cook until potatoes are tender.
    Remove the mixture from heat and slowly add milk and cream which have been heated.
    Serve immediately.
    Serves 8 to 10.
