Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. pecans
    3 c. sugar
    1 can sweetened condensed milk
    2 tsp. salt
    1 can water
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    1/2 stick butter
Preparation
    In a large boiler, combine sugar, milk, salt and water.
    Boil to soft ball stage; add nuts and butter.
    Boil to firm ball stage. Remove from heat; add vanilla.
    Stir until it no longer is glossy on top.
    Spoon out on wax paper.
