Cracked Wheat Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cracked wheat
    1 1/2 c. warm water
    1 1/4 c. hot water
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/3 c. shortening
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    1 pkg. dry yeast
    1/4 c. warm water
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 beaten egg
    6 to 6 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
Preparation
    Place 1 cup whole wheat kernels in blender.
    Cover; blend on highest setting for 1 1/2 minutes or until kernels are coarsely ground.
    Combine cracked wheat and 1 1/2 cups warm water; let stand 15 minutes, stirring once or twice.
    Drain, pressing out excess liquid.
