Mama'S Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    8 small onions, sliced
    4 green peppers, chopped
    5 c. sugar
    5 c. vinegar
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. mustard seed
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 tsp. turmeric
    1 qt. crushed ice
    1/2 c. pickling salt
Preparation
    Put cucumbers, onions and peppers in large crock or pan.
    Mix ice and salt;
    pour over cucumbers.
    Let set for 3 hours; drain and put in pot.
    Pour remaining ingredients over cucumbers.
    Bring to a boil.
    Put in jars and seal.
