Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 1/2 c. pecans
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 tsp. butter
Preparation
    Cook together until syrup forms a soft ball when tested in cold water.
    Remove from stove and add 1 1/2 cups pecans, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 1 tablespoon butter.
    Beat until mixture begins to hold shape.
    Drop by spoon on wax paper that has been sprinkled generously with salt.
