Mother'S Fresh Coconut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    3 unbeaten eggs
    4 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    3 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 c. milk
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar.
    Add 1 egg at a time, beating after each.
    Mix flour, baking powder and salt together.
    Add alternately with milk.
    Continue beating at medium speed, scraping sides of bowl with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon.
    Add vanilla. Bake in 11 x 7-inch pans (3) for 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Let cake cool.
    Frost with Mother's Coconut Cake Frosting (recipe follows).
