Cabbage Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium sized head cabbage
    1 tsp. salt
    4 c. boiling water
    black pepper
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    2 carrots, grated
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Trim and shred cabbage.
    In a bowl add cabbage, onion, salt and boiling water.
    Let stand for 1 hour.
    Drain into colander and press water from vegetables.
    Put into large serving bowl.
    Add vinegar and toss.
    Season with pepper and serve.
