Celery Almondine - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    4 c. sliced celery
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper (white)
    2 Tbsp. finely chopped green onion tops
    2 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 c. chicken broth
    1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. slivered, toasted almonds
    coarsely ground white pepper
Preparation
    Melt butter in saucepan.
    Add celery, salt and pepper.
    Cover and cook until celery is crisp and tender.
    Shake pan frequently to prevent scorching.
    Add green onion tops and onion.
    Cook 2 minutes longer.
    Combine flour and broth; blend into celery mixture.
    Stir and cook until sauce begins to thicken.
    Stir in milk and simmer about 2 minutes.
    Add almonds; toss gently.
    Sprinkle with coarsely ground pepper.
    Serves 6.
