Angel Biscuits - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 c. plain flour
1/4 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
3/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
2 pkg. yeast
4 Tbsp. warm water
2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
Preparation

Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut in shortening. Dissolve yeast in the 4 tablespoons very warm water. Add yeast and buttermilk to the flour mixture. Mix well. Place in refrigerator to chill. When ready to bake, roll out to 1/4-inch thickness on a well floured board, using a floured rolling pin. Cut with a 2 1/2-inch biscuit cutter. Dip into melted butter and fold over to make \"pocketbooks.\" Place on ungreased baking sheet or pan. Bake in 400\u00b0 oven until lightly browned. Dough does not have to rise before baking and will keep in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
