Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 egg
3 Tbsp. melted shortening
milk
Preparation

Sift together the dry ingredients; add well beaten egg and melted shortening and enough milk to make fairly moist stiff batter.
Drop by spoonful into boiling liquid.
Cover very closely; cook 18 minutes.
