New England Boiled Dinner - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. corned brisket
    1/2 lb. salt pork
    cold water to cover meat
    1 medium cabbage
    3 small turnips, peeled and cut in quarters
    6 small onions, peeled
    6 medium potatoes, peeled and cut in half
    6 carrots, peeled
Preparation
    Place meat into a large pot, cover with cold water.
    Cover pot, bring to boil.
    Reduce heat and simmer for 2 1/2 hours.
    Cut cabbage into 6 pieces and remove core.
    Add all vegetables to meat.
    Cook until meat and vegetables are tender, about 1 hour. Serve on large platter with meat, surrounded by vegetables.
    Serve with either dinner rolls or hard rolls.
