Rocks - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. soda, dissolved in hot water
2 c. flour
dash of salt
1 c. chopped dates or raisins
1/2 c. nuts
Preparation

Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs, vanilla, and soda and mix well.
Add salt and flour and mix.
Add nuts and raisins or dates.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10-12 minutes.
Makes 2 dozen.
